| Why?
That was the one big question on the mind of many Singaporeans who came to pay their last respect to a tree they only knew not long ago, but cut down so tragically... so soon. It was beyond our comprehension. Amongst the earliest to express their concern were the chinese-speaking community. They spoke up readily for a tree that could not speak through the chinese TV media. The tree had also been comprehensively reported in a centrespread feature by the local chinese newspaper Zaobao when it was first discovered. |
