Our
fascination with intertidal plains would fall far short of imagination
if, as it were, limited between the diurnal ranges of the daily highs
and lows of the tides.
There is a living dynamism of morphological processes millennia old,
waiting to be discovered in the humble sediments, rocks and corals
platforms beneath our feet.
If our mind-map is only a geography of grand promenades promising
even grandier seaviews, we would have beautiful seafronts but without
beautiful minds. It would be truly tragic if we humans take upon ourselves
to alter the virginality of the shores in this generation to deprive
another.
Geography is one great map of life and we |

Losing it is a sure way for
our children to lose their way even further. They have the inalienable right
as heirs and skippers to our lovely earth-ship beyond our own watch. But
have we lost sight of the horizon before us now ? |
