can still visit the magnificent cliff forest
today but do watch out for the treacherous tides! The headland rises
steeply to 36 metres at the highest point along a south-east line
from Rimau Point where two stilted gunposts
stand. The last of the layar-rock can be found on the beach. Admirers
call it Departed Soul Rock, a somewhat philosophical name taken from
three Chinese words painted on the adjacent cliff-wall by an unknown
