Dichanthium annulatum
There must be something 'sweet' and enticing about this grass that is worthy of the aphids' attention. The inflorescence is crawling with them. The paired gland-like structures found at the hairy end of the branches are truly fascinating. I can't wait to get my hands on a more 'powerful' stereoscope to investigate them further! Intriguing all the more as I could find no mention of these structures in the agronomic works that I know. If you think grass is not interesting, think again : )

See inflorescence | awned spikelets | node | rachis-wonderland | annulatum refers to a ring
