| Coffee
fruits (family: Rubiaceae) |
|
| Coffea arabica
and Coffea robusta (photo below) are two coffee plants one
can find in Malaysian plantations. Arabica coffee are best grown in
the highlands, while Robusta coffee are preferably grown on the coast.
There is an easy way to distinguish them; unlike Arabica coffee, Robusta
coffee has a strong trunk and does not bend easily. See the flowers
of Oxyceros longiflora, a native clmber belonging to the coffee
family too. |
