ITINERARY
& other important notes (below)
Day 1 (Fri)

Depart S'pore on SQ flight 0900hrs arriving 1100hrs to connect (in Bali) with GA 7140 / 1500hrs. You will be met on arrival in CI, and your rent-a-car with full tank of fuel will be ready for you at the airport. Your host will show you to the hotel-chalet. Most chalets are on the main coastal strip, Gaze Rd & Settlement. Suggest you stroll or drive to Rumah Tinggi, or Golden Bosun for pre-dinner drinks and witness a magical sunset over the Indian Ocean. You will see Frigate Birds everywhere. Have dinner there, or drive up to Poon San at Silver Birch or Season's Palace (Chinese restaurants).
Day 2 (Sat)

Suggst breakfast at the Malay Club, and take a walk to Tai Jin House for a wonderful hilltop view (depending on where you are staying). Take in the sights of Flying Fish Cove... if there is time. After breakfast, your host will meet you and any other CI guests, for a "Round the island Orientation Tour" to pinpoint the favorite spots on CI... the scenic coastal road to the 'Grotto' (a 2min trail with many Red Crabs leading to a little cave and enclosing a sandy cove with aquamarine pool); the only golf course where crabs watch you putt; a Chinese Temple facing the ocean; the formal Casino Resort; and more stunning views at Margaret's Knoll, St Martins Point, Dales & Hughes Waterfall, Greta and Dolly Beaches, South Point, Blowholes, and other places that you can return for a picnic, swim or simply to relax, unwind and watch the sunset !
Day 3 (Sun)

Suggest breakfast of Nasi Lemak or Lontong at the Kampung's Sukaramai or Malay Club; then take a leisurely drive to perhaps Margaret's Knoll & Blow Holes for sweeping views of CI's rugged southern coastline and visit the Blow Holes to hear the 'sea dragons' roar and spew out columns of spray. Then up to the Look-Out at the Chinese Temple. Enroute, drive up to the top of the rainforest covered plateau (300+ metres), visit the Pink House Research Station and walk the easy Heritage Nature Trail (15 mins). In the afternoon, drive up to Territory Day Park and do a walkabout (20 mins). At 4.30pm (if you still have the energy) visit Max Orchard of the Parks and watch him feed the orphaned big seabirds.
Day 4 (Mon)

Get ready for a full-day of exploring and adventure. Pack a picnic lunch, swimsuits, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and head for the western part of the dog-shaped island to world-heritage RAMSAR site, the Dales and Hugh's Waterfall. First stop is Martin Point, view the rugged coastline, photograph the Red-footed and Brown Boobies roosting and nesting. Then venture to Hugh's Dale Waterfall... 20 mins trail lined with signages on the flora and fauna (spot CI's wild orchids). The Dales offer an excellent platform to view the Blue Crabs and their habitat.
Day 5 (Tues)

Suggest a half-day boat cruise (pre-booking in S'pore is recommended) to West Wide Beach for swimming, snorkeling, or scuba-diving (S$60 per person). This is your chance to see the coastline with its razor sharp pinnacle fringed cliffs. If you are lucky you might just be swimming with dolphins and sea turtles. For Dinner, try the Nasi Bryani at the Kampung-Malay Club.
Day 6 (Wed)

Full-day Greta and Dolly (Turtle) Beaches: Pack a picnic lunch, your swimsuit and snorkel / fishing gear and drive down south to Greta Beach (nesting turtles all year round) and then to Dolly Beach - a boardwalk thru coastal terrace forest and adventurous rope climb down to this sand beach with coral reef. Turtles nest here all year round too. See giant robber crabs. Dinner perhaps at Season's Palace for Chinese or Track's Tavern for western.
Day 7 (Thurs)

Today, we suggest a day at the beautiful Ethyl & Lily Beaches and cliff-top boardwalk to see nestling seabirds. Take a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, drive up to Phosphate Hill, Drumsite, Poon San and Silver City, and the Settlement. Dine at the fish and chip at Seaview Cafe (cheap & good) or Rumah Tinggi (rated the most sophisticated cafe-restaurant on CI).
Day 8 (Fri)

Morning free & easy, for that last minute phototaking or picking out souvenirs from the Visitors Tourist Office. After lunch, drive to the airport for your flight GA 7150 / 1640hrs to Bali. Upon arival in Bali at 1920hrs, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
