| Papaya trees
are variously unisexual and dioecious or hermaphrodite (or unisexual)
and monoecious. Male trees may or may
not produce metre-long inflorescence. And to confuse the matter
of sex further, trees are found to produce papaya-berries at the end
of impressive metre-long infrutescence too. Photo below shows female
