the Angsana trees These workmen prefers the cool shade of the Angsana trees for their lunch and rest. But very soon, they may have to find alternative shade inside the private estate of Jalan Mariam. The tree, marked with red-and-white tape on the right, has a girth of 480cm. It is one of the 76 trees reported to be marked for the axe by the Land Transport Authority (The New Paper, 10 Nov 2003).
